Ballynona House

Gorgeous old home on beautiful grounds. Off the beaten trail, outside of town. Quaint and quiet. Host Kamla was welcoming and warm. Brought us up tea and offered a French press for our early morning start.

Other guests were noisy, but that’s not the hosts fault and to be expected in an older home with thinner walls.

The host was delightful and helpful,offered us a super unexpected breakfast. Took our cases up the 4 flights of steep stairs, the beds were clean and comfortable, however , the general cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms and bathroom left much to be desired.

Cadre agréable dans un écrin de verdure, la maison a le charme de l'ancien. L'Hôtesse est très sympathique et fait beaucoup d'effort pour communiquer malgré la barrière de la langue. Le petit déjeuner nous a été offert, geste que nous avons beaucoup apprécié.

Pas très simple à trouver. Il manque un peu de signalétique sur la route.

Superbe petit déjeuner, hôte adorable. Le prix du petit déjeuner est compris dans la réservation, pas de coût supplémentaire contrairement à ce qui est indiqué sur le site

Le mobilier est un peu vieillissant quoique encore en état correct, très peu de pression dans la douche ce qui n'est pas très pratique

Room was not in a good state of repair. Not very clean - lots of cobwebs on the roof. There was a crack in the window and when this was queried with the owner, response was that the weather was warm so this wouldn't be an issue. When the room conditions were challenged, owners response was to query what was expected for €70 per night. Owner was asked if room could be changed and an alternative room was offered for a increased price. This was paid but the room had multiple damp spots on the roof. Left after staying one night and wouldn't stay again. Honestly don't know where the high rating and positive reviews came from for this place.
