La Casa di Marla

We loved our host, the breakfast, accommodation and the area to visit! Despite the language difficulties, Marla was amazing at explaining what to visit, where to eat and what to enjoy in the area. The bicycles provided were perfect transport to all the sights we wanted to see - with easy cycling. Breakfast was beautiful with Marla preparing something different each morning and a huge array of snacks, yoghurts, drinks available as well. Accommodation was lovely: filled with countryside antiquities, full of character yet with all the facilities one would need. Amazing deep bath, great shower etc. We loved the farmhouse flavour of the accommodation, the quiet of the countryside and the flourish of birdsong at all times. Three swallows nests, six adults and an abundance of small ones in the nests kept us entertained in the courtyard. Visits to local beaches and the wonderful peninsula or Sirmione provided days of exploration. Relaxing and beautiful. We were so well cared for by our host who kindly picked us up and delivered us back to the station. Her guidance for places to see was so helpful and her vibrant energy and desire to make our stay wonderful will stay with us for a long time.

Marla and her daughter were very welcoming and gave us a lift to the train station.

Such a beautiful, rustic property but with all the conveniences for a comfortable stay. Super friendly and acccomodating host, quiet and peaceful location. We only stayed one night but agreed this Casa di Marla would be even better suited to a few nights to truly settle in and relax.

Booking.com indicated it is close to the centre of town, but it's not as close as we thought. An easy drive though, and if you were staying a few days I think you'd be happy walking or cycling around. There was a big clump of hair in the shower from a previous guest when we arrived. However, these elements didn't meaninfully detract from a great stay.

Marla was a very accommodating host. She provided bicycles for us to use to get around Sirmione. The room was very comfortable and the food was delicious, including the wine gift. The location was perfect and truly gave us the Italian experience with the nearby vineyard and villas.

Coming from America where we are used to smoking having designated areas away from entrances and accommodations, the nearby smoke did trigger coughing and congestion for us.
