Home with a sea view

Our stay here was good even just one night. We really loved it and enjoyed the terrace upstairs with the amazing view. The host was so nice and responsive.

Here are some highlights: **Location:** The apartment is situated at the heart of the medina vibrant area close to restaurants, shops, and public transportation]. This made it super convenient to explore the city. **Cleanliness:** The apartment was very clean and well-maintained. I appreciated the attention to detail in the cleaning process.

I cannot express how disappointed I am with this accommodation. My stay here was an absolute nightmare, and I feel compelled to warn others to avoid booking this apartment at all costs. First and foremost, the listing is completely misleading. The title and description boast a "sea view," but this couldn’t be further from the truth. The apartment is on the ground floor, and the only window is a tiny, jail-like opening, positioned so high up that you can see nothing out of it. Even if you manage to clime and open it (which is a struggle), it overlooks a very narrow, unappealing lane. To make matters worse, the photos on the listing are clearly taken from the roof of the building (5th floor), showing a sea view that has absolutely nothing to do with the apartment. After climbing several flights of poorly maintained, tiring stairs, you arrive at a deserted, empty roof with no facilities whatsoever. By the time you get there, you’ll have no desire to even look at the sea. It’s a blatant attempt to mislead guests, and it’s unacceptable. The problems didn’t stop there. During my stay, there was a water outage, leaving me without running water for hours. Cannot use the toilet, shower, wash or even brush my teeth. The toilet is dirty and poorly maintained, and the water tap in the sink was broken, making it difficult to use. The table in the apartment is in bad cracking condition. However, the worst part of my stay was the overwhelming chemical smell that permeated the entire apartment. It was so strong and unpleasant that I couldn’t bear to stay inside. I had to leave after a long day and search for an alternative accommodation, as the smell made it impossible to relax or even breathe comfortably. When I raised these issues with the landlady and requested a refund for the night I couldn’t stay, she refused outright. Her lack of empathy and unwillingness to take responsibility for the poor conditions was schocking. I strongly do not advise anyone to consider it.

The sea view is actually only from the terrace. We had an apartment in the ground floor - almost without windows. To be fair, the owner informed us immediately after booking. There is no comfortable place to sit (sofa, chair with backrest).

Good location, separate kitchen

Ground floor is an open space, all upper rooms have windows into shared shaft that leads directly to the ground floor room. As if you’re being observed by everyone else. Somewhat smelly and a bit dump.

A very good stay in Essaouira in an excellent location. The view from the terrace is breathtaking. The apartment is very convenient with lots of space and an amazing ceiling.

The beds weren't that comfortable for us.

The property was well located for all the main attractions. There was a old world charm to the property and the facilities were good. The wifi was very good. The property is good value for money.

The old charm of the building means that the centre of this property extends all the way up to the top of the building meaning you are exposed to a lot of noise from all the other properties. When I say noise, you can clearly hear others chatting and if they are louder it’s very disturbing. Unfortunately there was a lot of this throughout the night. The upstairs accommodation has some sort of water pump or heater that woke me up every time it was turned on as it was very noisy. The roof top terrace is very tired, scruffy and dangerous and it is not clear when you book that you have to walk up 4 flights of stairs to get to it. If you don’t want to use the outside space and sleep like the dead, it’s a good option in a great part of town at a good price. But, not for me!

The property is located in the medina, within walking distance of all the sights, It also features a rooftop with a seaside view to enjoy. the room was spacious and clean. Finally the hostess was very friendly and helpful, providing us with useful tip for our stay.
