Lovely greeting, v hospitable. Rooms were beautifully clean and comfortable.

Breakfast was excellent and the location was superb the host was friendly and helpful

The place has bed bugs. I saw an adult one crawling up the wall by my bed and caught it in a tissue and showed it to the owner and i found a baby one under my pillow (photographed). We took our things and left before looking for any more. They said they've never had bed bugs in the 18 years they've been open but i find that hard to believe, i also think it's morally wrong that they are still taking bookings after we told them of the bugs. Nothing looks clean, the bed linen, the decorations, the bathroom were all tired and covered in dust/dirt. It looked like the bedding had been on for 5 months and never cleaned. I booked the largest room which was a family room of 3 beds which is more money than the other double rooms and upon arrival i was offered "any room" and had to listen to the host describe every room in the building. I expect the exact room i booked not a £90 one and you pocket the extra money i paid. Very weird system of operating a B&B, like other reviews it is true, the check in process is laborious and nosy, asking where we live, and telling us breakfast is served until 9am - not mentioned on this site when booking. They called later saying they'd offer a full refund but i'd have to drive back to them in the morning to pick up a cheque?! i said i wanted it back in my bank acct as thats how id paid initially and they said they would have to go to the bank tomorrow to process it, i said ok and they an hour later i get it transfered into my account. very strange behaviour. very stressful to think we've been exposed to bed bugs, you need to get the council in to fumigate and stop taking bookings.
