Birtles Farm Bed and Breakfast

Comfortable bed and well appointed bedroom in a supremely tranquil location. Excellent cooked farmhouse breakfast. A joy to see all the cows in their byre.

We travelled with our daughter who has Coeliac Disease, and her dietary requirements were safely met by Sharon. The B&B is beautifully decorated, clean and was very comfortable, though the bathroom in our room was compact. We loved seeing the animals when we arrived and left, as the property is on a working farm. We were not disturbed by any noises from the farm. We had no issues getting a taxi from/to the property, Sharon gave us a taxi number and we pre-booked. If we are in the area again, we would definitely rebook.

Shower was noisy but worked fine. Host confirmed it should have already been changed as part of an en-suite upgrade but contractors had let them down before Christmas

The welcome text prior to stay was really helpful. Lovely to be greeted by the host and shown to my room. Bedroom, private (external) bathroom, guest lounge and dining room were clean, tidy and well equipped. Guest lounge with the log burner was really cosy. Bed was probably the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in and the bedding felt really luxurious.

There is nothing I didn’t like.

Beautiful location. Sharon was a fantastic host. Breakfast was amazing with locally sourced ingredients. Loved being on a working farm. Extremely comfortable beds and very snuggly duvet and accessories. Plenty of brew making facilities with ensuite bathroom
