Nice location. Historical building. Unfortunately run down and staff clearly show no interest in hospitality.

Outdated, with no amenities. Laundry and bedding is old and stained. It is not clear if the white stains on the black bedding is from laundry, fading or something else. I used my own sleeping bag, instead of touching anything else. I arrived over 4 hours after my booking to find a locked and deserted building. When I phoned, they did not know about my booking, do I needed to hold for minutes while the staff had a discussion. The guy who eventually came down to let me in and show me the room had his mobile phone to his ear the entire time and focused on that conversation rather than assist a paying guest. Although the Indian restaurant is closed, the smell continues to permeate the property. In the morning, I could not get out of the building. There were no staff around, except someone uncommunicative who didn’t seem to acknowledge my presence. I found the front door key on the room keyring, do I dropped it in the letterbox after letting myself out. The price is outrageous for a dinghy room , no amenities and no service. I regret that I didn’t take one of the other places available for around a third of the price. I met a group of locals on my arrival to the town, it appears the hotel is renowned for its poor value.

We had two days where the shower was cold as ice
