Alington House

Super friendly and helpful host. Clean and well-decorated room. The house is on the Cherry Hinton Road, Route 3 bus can take you where you want to go. Near the house there is a co-op shop and further to the East is the Cherry Hinton Hall Park. I had a wonderful short-stay here. Highly recommended.

Can hear other guests through the wall, but fortunately no one was noisy while I stayed.

A very friendly family-run business that makes you feel like you’re being hosted by a family. It’s exceptionally clean and well-organized. It gave me the feeling of being in a British home rather than a hotel. It may seem like it’s outside the city center, but it is well-connected, and the nearby market and restaurants are definitely worth exploring.

There was no breakfast provided but this made the stay more reasonably priced. There was a local co-op and the room had a fridge which was helpful.

Some traffic noise from the main road outside. We were aware of this because the weather was hot and we needed the windows open.

Near the centre of Cambridge. 20 minutes from Duxford. Good on site parking. Very friendly host and family. Facilities for disabled such as wet room and high toilet. Ground floor bedroom. Small fridge in room. Plenty of places to eat in walking distance for the able! Fluffy towels. Shampoo, shower gel and soap provided. Fresh milk, tea and coffee provided. Information leaflets in the hall, plus a bell to ring for the host if you need anything.

Room quite cramped. I don't think it needs a table and lounge chairs in my opinion. Mattresses could do with an upgrade. No lid on the toilet. Shower water doesn't go down the plug quick enough

Location was great with direct bus to centre. Landlady was lovely. Room was clean

Could do with some blinds or voiles in window for a bit of privacy from road and houses opposite. There was a lot of noise through windows so we woke early with traffic. Could do with a shelf or something in shower to hold shampoo etc.

Came here to watch the airshow at Duxford, awesome for this, the comfort of a private bathroom cannot be overstated . Elisabeth was lovely, I definitely recommend this guest house!

The room was really small (the bathroom door couldn't open as it hit the bed). The place is kind of out of the way, to get to the station it's either a 24 mins walk or a £2 ride on a pretty infrequent bus.

Nice clean room and comfortable bed. Fridge in the room, tea making facilities also. Our host was very welcoming and provided us with all fresh milk needed for our teas and coffees. A short bus ride for us to the city and in the other direction to a good pub and food establishment. Car parking if needed.
