Serenity on Brunskill

Beautiful views, lovely, friendly hosts, perfectly named place, it was so serene! Spacious and very clean room, very well provisioned. Fabulous location, so close to Hobbiton.

If you’d like a wee breakaway from the kids or have a wedding to go to at Te Miro Woolshed this is the place to just relax in, soak up the amazing garden, with that “home away from home” feeling 🧡 The hospitality was top tier amazing, we checked in the afternoon and went out and came back quite late and our hosts greeted us in the driveway, we came back to our room heated, electric blankets on, just a lovely toasty setup for us to settle for night, AH-Mazing. The breakfast was amazing, different types of homemade spreads, my favourite was the Quinche Jelly 😮‍💨 we used some of the homemade jams and relish for our spread before th wedding, delicious ! As for our hosts, thank you so much for having us, we wish we stayed longer, such beautiful people, with the coolest life stories!! very welcoming we would definitely be back again, stay a bit so Judy can share her homemade spread recipes 😋 yummmm

Lovely comfortable room. Gardens were beautiful and the owners made you feel at home. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We had a relaxing weekend and we loved the peace and quiet, we were going to the caravan show at mystery creek. Judy and Chris were wonderful host's and the facilities were everything we needed for the weekend. The continental breakfast choices gave us a wide choice. But the best was Judy's home made jam and marmalade. They evoked memories of my Nana and childhood in the UK. Comfortable bed and heating kept us warm on this very wet weekend.

Nothing really to dislike 😊 But for reference it's 20 minutes to Cambridge so if you wanted to go out to eat remember this. I know the area so I was prepared and brought our food and used the microwave and we ate at the show Sunday.. It's rural so internet will not be like in the city. The TV has Freeview and the weather probably had something to do with the lag on Saturday evening (it poured down). As it was ok sunday.

Hosts were obliging and helpful with daily servicing of unit and cleaning of cutlery/plates as well as fresh fruit (in season) provided. Hosts supplied home made chutneys and jams from own produce, tasty and enjoyed by us. Bathroom & shower were OK. Fridge was suitable with fresh suppies of milk & juice.

Location fine for rural getaway or stay, trip into Cambridge (25 min) or Karapiro (30 min) each way via either end of Brunskill was winding and not so good for queasy travellers. Bed mattress was a bit soft for our opinion. Kitchen bench very restricted once dishes were used.
