Beech House

De badkamer en de kamer waren heel netjes, schoon en smaakvol

In het dorp kon je niet eten. Gelukkig was er een kleine post office met wat producten. Wat broodjes en beleg gekocht en dat was ons avondeten. Gelukkig mochten we van de landlady het in de tuin opeten. Zij zorgde voor bestek en borden.

It’s a charming property and Gill and Will are wonderful hosts!!!! It’s a quiet location the rooms are comfortable with home comforts and so many wonderful trinkets and treasures to admire throughout the house. Gill is warm with a fabulous personality and spirit. She went the extra mile for us (timely as we were doing a marathon the day after our stay!) and prepared a take away sandwich for us for our breakfast.

Location was perfect, a short walk to Greystoke Castle which was the purpose of our visit. Beautiful accomodation and excellent breakfast. Jill, our host, is very friendly and accomodating . Tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. Lovely toiletries and soft, fluffy towels in the bathroom. Amazing house plants!

We liked everything.

The location was an ideal stop-off point on our journey home from Scotland. We liked the rural location and the property was a lovely old house with many quirky features. We were welcomed by the host, who took us up to our room and offered tea and coffee to recover from our journey. The room was pleasantly decorated and very comfortable, well fitted and with rustic features, such as the very useful wooden clothes rail. We had sole use of the adjoining bathroom which was perfect for our needs, with a walk in shower cubicle. We placed our order for breakfast from an extensive menu, including cereals, yoghurt with fresh fruit, juices and a selection of cooked options. Although the local pub was not serving food that evening, we found another one a short drive away (the Herdwick), where we were served an excellent dinner. After a good night's sleep, we had breakfast in a lovely room, filled with a collection of green plants and with some interesting pictures on the walls. Breakfast was excellent, with everything freshly prepared and well cooked by our host, who took time to chat with us over points of mutual interest. We went on our way feeling well rested and refreshed after our stay at Beech house Although we did not have time to explore the local area, it was very pleasant to drive along the narrow, leafy lanes and admire all the lovely old houses. We definitely hope to return to this area, and if possible, to pay another visit to Beech House.
