We had the family room with sea view and were very happy with it. In the room there is a lot of storage possibilities and the beds were very comfortable and not as hard as in other places in Sri Lanka. Bathroom was great and really big with good water pressure and hot water. We also had our laundry done directly in the hotel - it came back fast and nicely smelling 🙂 The owners were really nice and helpful while dealing with date changes caused by the current situation in the Gulf Region. Little supermarkets, a bakery, fruits & vegetable shops are near by. To Galle it‘s just a 25 min bus ride which is highly recommended. Great value for money and definitely worth a stay at Sailor‘s Bay

Beware of Mosquitos - we had the bathroom window open on day and like 30 mosquitos in the room - after keeping it closed, it was ok the rest of the days.

Direkter Strand Zugang. Man fühlt sich wie an einem privaten Strand

Die Lage ist an der vielbefahrenen Hauptstraße. Geräuschkulisse war im Zimmer aber ok.

Wir hatten sehr schöne Tage in dieser Unterkunft. Wir hatten das Zimmer mit direktem Meer Blick, was unfallsbar schön war. Die Lage ist auch sehr empfehlenswert, weil sie etwas außerhalb vom Trummel ist und trotzdem sehr schon mit dem tuktuk an die Stadt angebunden ist. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. Definitely the place to stay if you want a quiet location in Hikkaduva.

We spent 5 wonderful nights at Sailor's Bay in February 2026 and absolutely loved it! The property is managed by two brothers who are incredibly welcoming and attentive and they really made us feel at home. The location is right on the beach, with sun loungers available for guests to relax and enjoy the view. We had a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast several times, egg hoppers with onion and dahl curry, a fresh fruit plate, and fruit juice, and it was delicious every single time. They can also organize airport transfers and trips throughout Sri Lanka at very competitive prices, with comfortable, spacious cars. We would absolutely recommend Sailor's Bay, it's a gem!

Not necessarily about this property, but in general, we noticed that in Sri Lanka there is no cabin shower, not even a curtain, so when you shower, water goes everywhere. Only in the hotel in Sri Lanka we had a cabin shower.
