Fabulous breakfast in idyllic location.

The long gravel drive bought us into what we can only describe as heaven. Martin and Verity greeted us on arrival and took us into their beautiful home. Our accommodation was lovely and comfortable with our own bathroom (with a fantastic view) small patio area, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities plus lovely homemade cookies. The views are absolutely stunning, the grounds were amazing with a steep pathway leading down the waters edge. We honestly felt like celebrities. The hosts were absolutely lovely. Verity’s artwork is something very special, a very talented lady. The attention to detail at breakfast was amazing the views were spectacular and we truly didn’t want to leave.

There is absolutely nothing you could dislike about this property other than having to leave it!

Martin & Verity were great hosts! We saw the reviews and pictures for this place and knew we had to stay even though it meant travelling almost an hour out of our way. It was well worth it. Martin graciously stayed up late to check us in as we weren't able to arrive until after our penguin tour in Akaroa. In the morning, we woke up to the most beautiful views of the bay and enjoyed the hot tub, fresh coffee, and an amazing breakfast spread outside on the deck. We wish we could of stayed longer to enjoy the views and walk down to the water.

The wifi was a little slow, but not an issue for us.

Stunning views and lovely hosts

Martin and Verity were very friendly and helpful hosts. They were industrious people who spent many years to make this remote area of Port Levy into a restful paradise. They planted many pine trees into a pine forest and harvest pine nuts. They planted different vegetables and herbs for cooking. Verity is an multi-talented artist and a chef. Therefore the meals she prepared for us were pleasing to our eyes and our palates. We wish we could be like chameleon that can fix one eye to the food, and the other to the view. The full English breakfasts and other choices were excellent, with different kinds of home-made jam to choose from. The optional dinner was sumptuous too. A spectacular sea view made the food even taste better. We enjoyed our meals inside when it was rainy and windy, and our breakfast outside on the balcony when it was warm and sunny. The beauty of the place shone through both rain and shine. This place could be named Port Levy BnBnDnV (Bed and Breakfast and Dinner and View).

It would even be better if the bathroom and the pantry are located in the bed room. It would be nice if washcloth and a trash bin in the bed room are provided,

Absolutely fantastic location, friendly hosts, great food, perfect stay! Even though it was raining we really enjoyed everything.

Remote and beautiful location. Exceptional food and lovely hosts. The bird feeder kept us entertained for hours.
