Four Winds B&B

The guesthouse is located in the very centre of Le Castella, just in front of the castle. Check in was fully automatic with code to the entrance doors. The room was quite spacious and its bathroom is also spacious, with large and comfortable shower. Everything is clean and in quite high standard, very resonably priced. Breakfast was served in the bar nearby and it was simple italian breakfast but good (coffee, juice and croissant). There was no private parking but it was not a problem to park at the edges of the town (ZTL zone) for free. In my case it was about 300 m from the guesthouse. It is good guesthouse for one transit night as well as for longer stay as a base to explore Calabria.

The bed was a bit soft for me, but acceptable.

The room was spotless & comfortable. We were also given the use of a sitting area with sink, microwave, glasses & utensils. This area had a comfortable settee & effectively changed our room into an apartment. The owner was personable & friendly & we enjoyed talking with him. The decor was well done with a first class finish on everything. We also had a balcony which offered a partial view of the sea.

We had rooms on the second floor but being an older building there was no lift. Our suitcases are quite heavy because we are travelling continuously for 4 months. It was hard work carrying our cases up to the apartment but luckily the owner carried one of our cases.

The room was good with Aircon that refreshed the room. Very nice the self check-in with all the automated possibilities to get in. Nice small private bathroom and bed was really comfy.

I spent 3 nights here in August, 2022. I had booked 4 nights but had to leave. I had a room on the front of the building. There is a disco across the street that is open midnight to 2am. I could not sleep with all the noise. The room was good but a large piece of moulding for the entrance door fell off. Happily, no one was hit. Breakfast is with a coupon at a decent place down the street. Place was very clean. The proprietor greeted me upon arrival and ran through the instructions quickly. I never saw him again. he communicated by text on What's App. The town is so-so but the proprietor gave me access to a private beach. No towels supplied.
