Taylor Creek Lodge

The property was private but had so many amenities like a fire to sit around in the evening and two hot tubs. We were only here for one night, and wished we planned to stay longer. The bed was SO comfortable and our suite included a clawfoot tub with everything including fresh robes to have a relaxing evening in. The couple who owns the lodge and property were very friendly and we loved being able to spend some time with their very well behaved dogs. We were so happy we decided to stay for breakfast in the morning. They made homemade crepes, eggs (from their chickens) with cheese, spinach, tomatoes, bacon and sausage, yogurt, fruit, and baked goods. We were also able to get a quick load in the laundry as this was the middle of a long trip. If you are passing through or will be staying in the area, I highly recommend it!

It’s a room in a house with dog and cat running around. It was never mentioned in the listing. My wife is allergic to cats. So I decided not to stay and requested to cancel. I asked the lady who was a friend of the owner about the cancellation. She told me I would be able to cancel. She would let Rachel, the owner know. A couple of days later I saw a charge on my credit card for the full night stay based on the fact that I didn’t cancel with booking that night (already 6-7pm) and so she couldn’t rent it to others. I booked that place the same day several hours earlier. Based on the fact that the booking never mentioned cat and dog and my wife is allergic to cats, the owner should not have charged me for it because the place was unfit for us and they violated the disclosure rules. Also the fact that I was assure Rachel, who was unavailable, even phone call when I requested to talk to her directly, for another 3 hours because she had a family emergency.

The property is beautiful in a nice remote location, there was tons of stuff to keep my wife and I occupied during our stay.

I don’t think either of us can think of anything we didn’t like.

Wonderful welcome by the owner. We got an upgrade which was an unexpected and delightful surprise. Our stay was perfect. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. They owners are generous with their hospitality and time. Even sat with guests around the firepit for s'mores at dusk. We loved it

Great home cooked breakfast, best way to start your day or just go back to sleep because you’re so full. Area is very scenic, plenty of beach access. Atmosphere is very relaxing. The Rouge River Jet Tour was a great experience.
