Om Homestay

Homestay très bien situé à upper Tapovan avec pleins de cafés,vrestaurants et studios de yoga tout autour. Le homestay se trouve dans une impasse, c'est très calme et parfait pour méditer 🧘✨🫶

I loved the location and the host was very flexible for my schedule upon leaving. She ordered a car for me and was very welcoming in general. The room was huge and the bathroom was also big and everything was very clean as well.

In the early morning around 6:30AM there was quite a bit of noise coming from the next room and some smoke smell that was a little unpleasant smelling. I think it was some morning prayer rituals. I completely understand the need to do this and it is a home after all, I just wasn't expecting it. All good.

Location was good, close to the centre of Tapovan and nice cafes and shops. The bed was large and comfortable, and the room was a good size.

The room was cold as night, and no heating available though I think this is pretty standard in Homestays in the area. The shower pressure was very low. The house is currently under construction so from 8am till 6:30 pm there was very loud building noises. This was not advertised before I booked, also the family practiced chanting and music every morning from 5:30am opposite my room. Again that’s fine but if this was advertised I probably wouldn’t have booked to stay here. Lastly, there was a group of other guests staying in the property who were invited for breakfast and dinner on a few days at the outdoor table, while I was not invited. I’m not sure what the reason was, but I thought it was odd not to be asked. And generally I didn’t feel like my presence was welcomed.

Anju and her family are such lovely, kind people. What i enjoyed most was the peace and comfort that it gave me for a few days. There's alot of noise and construction in Tapovan and Om Homestay is just slightly out of the way and has green fields around, which is a delight to see while sat at the dining table outside with a cup of tea. The room was comfortable and clean, with a hot shower. Tea and a kettle were provided also and Anju and her 2 children were the sweetest. I appreciate being made chai and Anju even fixed a hole in my trousers 🙏

As a solo traveller, the price was slightly out of my price range, I'd have liked to stay there longer. However, I do believe you get what you pay for and what you will get in return is peace, comfort, cleanliness and a Homestay that feels like a home away from home. So, it is worth it.

A lovely place tucked away in a quiet corner, and a short walk away from some nice eating places. Anju is a warm hearted kind soul with great knowledge about the place. I had a memorable stay :)
