The location is stunning, the house is welcoming, comfortable & the beautiful gardens surrounding the property. The highlight however, is Carol who is an attentive & wonderful host. She & Jim ensure guests have the best experience possible.

Lis-Ardagh Lodge is a lovely property. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable king bed, beautiful linens and a nice hot shower. Carol’s excellent taste in fabrics, window coverings, ceramics and paintings made our stay at Lis-Ardagh very special. The garden at Lis-Ardagh was blooming with wisteria, rhododendrons and azaleas to be enjoyed relaxing under an umbrella on their deck overlooking the gardens. Breakfast is a treat with yummy yogurt and Carol had a fresh bowl of fruit every morning with a made to order hot breakfast. We spent three blissful nights at Lis-Ardagh Lodge in Union Hall. We didn’t want to leave. I almost forgot to add the village of Union Hall has a great laundromat and you can buy their famous smoked fish at the Centra mini market next door. Lots of good restaurants between Union Hall and Glandore.

Everything was fantastic! Carol and her husband were so nice and kind, perfect hosts! Amazing room, with all the facilities, lovely views and extremely clean and tidy. Breakfast was lovely as well. Great for a weekend off, in the middle of the countryside.

Everything. Carol and Jim are fantastic. They were extremely welcoming to their home. The house is fabulous, set in beautiful gardens. It is spotlessly clean, as someone else said, the shower is spotless, everything is. The beds were comfortable with plenty extra bedding if needed. A large bedroom, dressing room attached, then second bedroom and bathroom. Beautifully decorated rooms. A great selection of cereal, fresh fruit salad and natural yogurt, followed by pancakes or a full Irish or a few varieties of cooked eggs. Loads of choices of tea, couldn't say about the choice in coffee. Carol has an information pack in the room with loads of info. And both herself and Jim were a mine of information re stuff to see locally. They were fantastic to chat to. Carol exudes this sense of calmness that is just so relaxing. Nothing phases her.

Jim & Carol are the kindest hosts and really made our anniversary trip to Ireland so special. The room was exceptionally clean and the facilities fantastic, quiet, comfortable, all amenities including tea / coffee. The highlight for me was the fantastic breakfast every morning, cooked fresh and delicious every time and we tried almost everything over our 3 day stay! A wonderful location too, so quiet and peaceful in the morning and the warmest welcome will wait you. We really enjoyed our stay in union hall as a base for exploring west cork and the south coast and I highly recommend you stay here, you will not be disappointed! Carol even gave us baked supplies for the day and a flask of coffee for the road, so many kind gestures all of which were so appreciated. Thanks again for everything!
