Beemster Oase

My partner and I had a wonderful stay here- the room itself was spacious and clean with a beautiful garden view and seating area, and we were welcomed with apple juice from their orchard and stroopwafels (which were delicious). The bed was so comfortable and air conditioning ensured a great night's sleep for the whole trip. We were particularly impressed by the kitchen facilities available including a microwave oven, hot plates, kettle and anything else you'd need for cooking simple meals. Thank you to Joke and Nico for being such helpful and considerate hosts!

The only issue we had was that the train station is some distance away, but the hosts were kind enough to drive us from the station when we arrived and a bus going to Amsterdam is a 15 minute walk away- reasonable but a bit far if the weather is bad. Apart from that, no complaints!

Super friendly owners, very clean. Overall - calm and nice place at good location. Exceprional attention of the host for guests.

The area was a wonderful secluded nook surrounded by beautiful garden in a farmland area. It is separate from the main house but still close enough so we can reach out to the wonderful owners for help with anything. It was private and cozy, with modern utilities and lovely view outside. The hosts were extremely pleasant and helpful, a lovely couple, it reminded us of staying at our parents, we felt very well taken care of. The hosts genuinely care for you to have the best experience, making this a truly special vacation, going far beyond just a bed & breakfast stay.

Only think I can think of is that there was some minor lack of variety in kitchen utensils - we prefer to cook our own meals and we would have loved to have a cheese grater or pasta sieve at hand, but those were very minor inconveniences.

Very clean and convenient to town

I feel that the property is misdescribed. When I booked it I had the impression that we were booking the property exclusively as nowhere does it say there are 2 rooms at the property if one of them has already been booked. When we arrived we realised there are actually 2 en-suite bedrooms and the kitchen and dining area is shared. This was not made clear in the description. Contrary to the description there was no kettle or coffee machine in our room so we needed to use the shared kitchen. There is not an oven either, just a microwave in a cupboard. The guests in the other bedroom had breakfast included and on the 2nd morning, Sunday, we were texted by the owner at 08.27 to tell us that the other guests wanted their breakfast at 10am. I felt this was an unwelcome intrusion and as the kitchen and dining area is shared we felt awkward about using it when the others were eating breakfast. The wall between our bedroom and the shared area was a folding wall with a door in it, not a proper wall and this made us feel uncomfortable and that our privacy was compromised as there was no sound insulation. If I had known these things at the time of booking I would not have booked this property.

Spacious room with small seating area and outdoor area, in the countryside but still a fairly easy walk along the dyke to Purmerend. Good bathroom. Shared use of kitchen area with fridge, filter coffee machine (with coffee) etc - perfect. Nico and Joke are excellent hosts and gave us a warm welcome and good information about the local area. Communication was easy and they offered lifts from the bus/train stop. When our plans were disrupted by storm Poly they could not have been more helpful and accommodating.

We had a wonderful stay at this place. Breakfast was amazing. Neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Hope we will come back again.

A warm welcome by Nico when we arrived. A very beautiful room with a a shared kitchen area, all beautiful and clean with great facilities. Our bikes were safely stored in the barn overnight, great peace of mind. The location was great on the edge of town, with a 15 minute walk to the nearest shops and cafés.
