La posizione è particolare . Bisogna essere ottimi camminatori o avere un mezzo di trasporto, altrimenti osservare gli orari di trasporto dei mezzi con L'Aquila. Dal terminal di L'Aquila si possono organizzare ottimi giri in città, sul Gran Sasso e nei più attraenti borghi abruzzesi anche senza mezzi ma con una buona capacità di camminare. San Martino è anche ideale anche per riposarsi e magari fermarsi mezza giornata a leggere e riflettere. L'accoglienza è veramente unica.
