SOBE - OPG Blašković

If you find yourself near Pleternica, I highly recommend staying at Opg Blaskovic. We were only there for 1 day (we came to Pozega for children's choir competition, so we were on a tight schedule), but the warm welcome made us feel at home right away. Slavonians are known for their hospitality and this lovely couple is proof that it really is so. 💚 Rooms are nice and clean , but the best feature of the place is the lounge area, with a pool table, great music in the background and a lovely view. And of course, typical Slavonian breakfast ( there was also a freshly baked morning pastry for those who prefer something sweet in the morning. 😁) We took home a few bottles of their aronia berry products and a tiny bag of lovely memories.

The owners were incredibly welcoming and warm. The room is up a couple flights, and sits off of a common area that has everything for a comfortable stay. The room itself has a en-suite bath, a good bed and shower. Our hosts offered us a wonderful breakfast of all homemade domestic products. It was delicious and plentiful! They make and sell their own special organic Chokeberry juice, (aronia) that has many healthy benefits. We were generously gifted a bottle, I can’t wait to try some. She also recommended an amazing museum about the music cultural and traditions of Pleternica. This is a definite highlight, well worth seeing! We would happily stay with the Blašković family in their small hotel again!

We made a reservation through Booking.com, and afterward, we received a message in Croatian. They didn’t even bother to write in English, which made communication difficult. In the message, they said they weren’t sure if they would be home at the time of our arrival. When I informed them of our arrival time, they responded again in Croatian, stating that they wouldn’t be at the property at that time. This caused a last-minute disappointment for us. On top of the stress of finding a new place to stay, we also had to deal with the frustration of not being able to get a refund because it was a non-refundable booking. Overall, it was an unprofessional experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this property.

Location and quiet. Really amazing for rest. Owner is a wonderful man.

The hosts are very hospitable and willing to help and to be of service. Answered immediately to our messages. We even got a present! The room was very clean and so was the rest of the hotel. It had very good heating, as it was rather cold outside. We were offered parking for our motorcycle in a closed garage. There is a restaurant, a bakery and supermarkets in a very near distance. We recommend it!

Really surprising and amazing accommodation in a more or less small village with a great and friendly host.

I don't know whether it is mentioned somewhere, but it is probably not recommendable for people who have problems with their feet or older people as you have to walk up around 40 stairs to get to the rooms, so be aware of that. There is no elevator or so. That's why I gave 9 points instead of 10/10.
