The hotel is a independent building with spacy rooms, a small garden and a parking. The owners are very kind and friendly. The hotel restaurant is very good. The room is clean and tidy. It's the only place where I stayed in Madagascar where the bathroom was good looking and clean.

Not much hot water for the shower (solar powered).

The Residence Matsiatra was in a very good location, walking distance from the 'Haute Ville' of Fianarantsoa. The rooms were spacious and quite and breakfast was simple but good.

The description did not quite match the reality. When we were there, there was no hot water - though available in a bucket - and no functioning pizza restaurant. We were told that this was due to the recent COVID pandemic. If these facilities are important for you, it is worth checking with the owners where things stand before booking.

Nice room and great value for money. Good location close to Taxi B. terminal and center of town.

They close the gate around 9 PM so if you are planning to be out late this could be an issue. It's a little weird having a curfew at a guesthouse.
