GBGBWe loved the look of the house, garden and accommodation from the photos on the website, and the location was ideal for our needs. Just the sort of place where we really enjoy staying. The on-site parking was an added bonus even if it was a bit of a squeeze. Take a smallish car if you stay! Ours is a 21 year old Micra! There were lots of very thoughtful items available in the room. Besides the usual free tea and coffee, small toiletries (like a toothbrush), biscuits, confectionery bars and other useful sundries could be purchased via the honesty box in the room. So lovely to be trusted.
Our attractive chalet, (more like a little barn) was a tad on the small side, as was the bathroom, (no shelves or flat surfaces to put anything) but all perfectly ok for a short stay. Opening and closing the entrance gate to park the car might be a bit of a nuisance in the wet, but in the fine weather we had, you do get to see the lovely wild flower garden and hear the birds.

GBModern but also quaint. Well equipped. Quiet. Loved the informal chats at breakfast with suggestions of places to visit.
TV signal was poor, couldn’t watch BBC a few times. Seating wasn’t very comfortable or relaxing.
GBIt was an excellent find! As well as being surrounded by places to visit during the day and 2 places in walking distance for evening meals, Madeline’s cottage was a lovely place to stay. Breakfast in the traditional kitchen was a very good experience. On the way home we stopped off at Madeleine’s recommended farm shop (Emmerdale) - another good find.

GBIt was a home from home, we were treated like family us and the other families who were there. The village where the the cottage is situated is really friendly I would and have recommended it to friends.
It was excellent nothing l would complain about.
