Beachfront Hut Downstairs Astra - Beach Shack Chalet

Incredibly friendly staff. You can enjoy a beautiful view from the shack and even while eating at the restaurant. They have the coolest surf instructor / fishing guide / trekking guide / friend (shoutout to Ilham).

There's loud bad live music from a neighbouring bar blasting from 9 to 11 pm during the weekends, made falling asleep pretty difficult the first night.

Beautiful spot on the beach, hut just in front of the diving center (perfect for me), big room, surprisingly good shower (cold, did not need so did not try hot water). Bed was comfortable, fan pointing to bed so sleeping is manageable in the heat. Breakfast is simple, but nice. You can also have lunch and dinner there, which was always good and not expensive. Location is nice, I'm happy I stayed in the relatively quiet Juara. :)

Room could have been cleaner - towels and bed linnen were fine, but some webs in the bathroom that I would expect to be removed when cleaning a room. But no big deal, there's a broom in the room, so easily cleaned.

This place is paradise! We cannot say it in any other words. We loved it so much that we decided to stay a night longer than originally planned.... The staff is more than lovely, the beach is more than perfect and the hammocks in front of the Hut are a great for afternoon naps or watching the sunrise :) Lots of great offers from snorkelling over surfing to massages, and for breakfast we recommend the banana pancake :) Big Thanks to Etty and Ilham for being so great :D We'll definitely come back one day!<3

The location, falling asleep with the ocean, the really friendly people, facilities for surfing, dive center around the corner and good food!

Warm water shower was not working. Next time I will book directly with property (much cheaper). And they have a new dorm which looks really good.

Honestly out of this world the location, views, just everything. The pictures don't do it justice. If you want to stay somewhere where you can roll out of bed and onto the beach, then this is an absolute must.

We had a few issues around our first night, due to some filming going on at the location. This did seem to be a one off though and the staff made sure to make it up to us.
