The Isabela Beach House

We loved this place! It's right on the beach, but on the end so it's a little more private and yet it's an easy walk to the restaurants and tours. We wish we had even more time here. It was great!

It was a pre-paid quotation, despite of that I had to pay in cash to take the room, This is unreasonable and shouldn’t be offered on booking as on the Island a foreigner can take only 200USD a day on the cash machine. Should definitely banned from Booking

Well located just a short beach walk from the main square. Allowed early check in free of charge. Bikes, snorkels etc. all available for rent. We got breakfast one morning which was delicious and they made a special effort to get gluten free bread for me which was much appreciated.

We didn't have one of the rooms which opened out onto the beach which makes it a little less good value for money. Also we booked a tour of Los Tintoreras the night before at 6pm but my husband was too sick to go the next morning and we were still charged full price for it which we weren't told at the time of booking even though we were clear that my husband was already feeling unwell and wasn't sure if he would be able to go (I went anyway and it was a group trip with lots of others on it so it wasn't dependent on him going so I think a bit unnecessary to charge full price). Also, the WiFi was pretty terrible which didn't bother us as we didn't need it but if you require it then just FYI.

Nice clean place close to the water taxi dock. It's also close to the beach and a short walk to restaurants and tour companies in town. Enjoy breakfast at an outdoor table looking out at the beach and ocean. Breakfast was inexpensive and good ($10) - eggs, bread, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee. The walk from the dock to the hotel is relatively short, but the road is dirt. If you have wheeled and/or heavy luggage, it's really nice to pick up one of the many taxis at the dock. It only cost me $2.

Having some detailed directions on how to find the hotel would be helpful. If you've never been to the island, it's not obvious on the map where the water taxis will drop you off. Having a sign next to the road with the hotel's name would also be a helpful. (Someone came out to greet me, so it was no problem, but that may not be the case for everyone.) I never got the wifi to work. I was only there one night, so I didn't mess with it a lot.

Wendy the receptionist spoke beautiful English and recommended several great restaurants. Breakfast on the beach was lovely and they packed us a juice box, banana, and roll for our 5AM departure.

They turned off the AC every day when we left instead of turning the temperature higher, we would then have to come back and wait for it to cool down every afternoon. It was 83+ degrees with 90%+ humidity and very uncomfortable weather. Dinner on the beach was lovely and tasty.
