Le Kibalaou

This is the perfect please to relax and forget about the world. The cabins are modest but clean, the staff is kind and helpful, food is delicious (5000 CFA per meal, no menu), and the proximity to the sea cannot be beat. I very much enjoyed my time here and hope to return someday.

Ich habe eine sehr ruhige Unterkunft am Meer gesucht. Ich wollte zum ersten Mal ein wenig den Senegal kennenlernern und entspannen. Mit „normalen“ einheimischen Menschen. Erfahren, wie dort gelebt wird. Bloß kein typisches Tourismusgebaren. Nun, das alles habe ich hier gefunden. Eine einfache, wirklich tolle Unterkunft - alle Mitarbeiter hier sind sehr herzlich, hilfsbereit und familiär. Tolles Essen und guter gebrühter Kaffee zum Frühstück. Man hat hier alles Notwendige. Ich lief oft am kilometerlangen, breiten Strand entlang, wenn Ebbe war. Ich begegnete deutlich mehr zahme Kühe als Menschen. Man ist auf dem Land, morgens kräht der Hahn. Für mich genau das Richtige. Ich habe mich stets sicher gefühlt. Keine Touristenfänger, weil abseits gelegen. Tipp: Lassen Sie sich vom Vermieter ein Taxi dorthin organisieren. In den Sandpisten ist eine Orientierung etwas schwierig. Die paar anderen Gäste hier waren allesamt entspannt und sympathisch. Keine Party, alles ruhig. Das Rauschen des Meeres war immer vordergründig. Ich schlief jede Nacht bei offenem Fenster zehn Stunden. Ich hatte etwas Angst vor Malaria usw., aber Mücken waren Anfang Februar hier nicht vorhanden, so war mein Eindruck. Mein ausreichendes Zimmer hatte Moskitonetze an der Tür und an den Fenstern. Mein Kingsize-Bett hatte eine gute Matratze. Resümee von mir: Wenn man so etwas wie ich sucht, der ist hier wirklich sehr, sehr gut aufgehoben.

Rien à dire

Bel établissement, au calme, en pleine nature.La campagne et ses rizières à côté. Cases traditionnelles avec au milieu un plan d'eau. Un beau jardin avec des arbres de la région. Accès direct à la mer. La plage est tres belle et propre. Chambre taille correcte. Moustiquaire. Fait le repas le soir. Douche disponible entre l'hôtel et la plage. Le gerant est accueillant.

Gros point noir: Pas de route qui mène à l'hôtel directement. Il faut 15 min à pied pour rejoindre par la plage. La route qui rejoint La R20 est une piste en très mauvais état. Remplie d'eau à plein d'endroits et mauvaise sur un point précis. Le concept du lieu est d'être près de la nature. L'électricité fonctionne au solaire. Il y'a une coupure d'électricité dans la nuit. Il faut le savoir. Le ventilateur s'est arrêté la nuit, car plus de courant. Nous avions eu chaud le premier soir. Le WiFi qui n'est pas connecté à Internet.

What a beautiful place. I stayed here for 5 nights solo, to rest and rejuvenate. It's the perfect place for that, with a long quiet beach, comfortable and clean rooms, hammocks, common areas, and lovely family running Kibalaou. Everyone who works here is welcoming and warm in ways I'll not forget. The food is great, for those who enjoy fresh fish and fruit, this is the place for you. I could feel myself getting healthier by the day. I really appreciated being amongst the family, with a lot of quiet time to myself while also feeling very welcomed to spend time together, or to help out with fishing - which we then ate soon after! There's good WiFi in the common area, airport pick up and drop off, and generally help with what you might need. When my flight was cancelled because of the weather, adaptations were easily made with support. I highly recommend this beautiful place, and hope to return! A note that there's no ATM nearby, so bring cash + extra for meals and airport transfer

Incredible location, right in front of the beach and immersed in nature. You can hear the birds and the sound of the ocean. Magical! Friendly and kind staff make you feel at home. Amazing fresh food everyday!

Pretty beachside ecolodges. Food was good in the evenings and the bar was a lovely place to sit and enjoy the sunset. We stayed for two nights (I think up to three would have been enough in this location) and found it relaxing and restful. Le Kibalaou's relatively remote location forces you to go at a slower pace. Nice to sit in the beach hammocks and read!

Location quite far out of Cap Skirring. Whilst we could call a taxi, and did!, very easily if you are walking then it is a few hours into town. We walked back along the beach and it was nice if a little samey in places.
