Stairs but that is just par for the course in the Netherlands

Es ist eine sehr schöne Unterkunft, wir haben ein kostenfreies Upgrade mit Balkon erhalten und waren insbesondere von der Größe des Badezimmers positiv überrascht. Insgesamt ist das Haus sehr liebevoll und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Mit unserer Gastgeberin Babette haben wir uns sehr nett unterhalten und auch hilfreiche Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt erfahren. Man konnte alles in Monnickendam schnell zu Fuß erreichen. Ansonsten erreicht man Marken, Volendam, Edam usw. zügig per Rad. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, es war individuell und jeden Tag anders und sehr lecker.

We absolutely loved our stay here, we were visiting Amsterdam but wanted somewhere away from the noise etc to retreat to in the evening. It’s 2 minutes walk to the bus stop for a quick and easy transfer to the city. It’s a historic building restored and decorated beautifully. The room was big (another advantage over similar priced rooms in the city) really comfortable with space to relax, kettle, fridge. Breakfast was good and our host Babette very welcoming. The town is very sweet with several places to eat and we would have spent more time there, and in the Fortuna Spinosa’s garden, in better weather. We’d definitely come back, whether visiting Amsterdam or surrounding towns.

We had a wonderful stay at the Fortuna Spinoza. The building is truly impressive, and you can see in every detail how much care and love went into the renovation and the interior design of both the building and the rooms. Babette is a fantastic host, and we almost felt at home. The breakfast was excellent, beautifully prepared with great attention to detail and very tasty. We will definitely come back - it is a very special experience to be able to stay there.

Built in 1743, the French style mansion has charm, rich history, and is tastefully decorated. Our room is like a presidential suite at a five star hotel. Breakfast was served personally and plentiful. We used the hotel as a base to explore North Holland and Amsterdam. Monnickendam itself is really charming as well. This place is a hidden gem-highly recommended!
