Cozy historical house that faces the beautiful square of the village. The flat was clean and tidy with all things we needed for a night away. The owner was quite kind and she gave us good info about the area. Highly recommended.

"Lovely flat in a great location."

In the central square of one of Italy's most beautiful villages, the apartment is very well put together and has a great view into the square. Zavatterello is in the hills of a lesser known part of Lombardy and there is much to do in the area including Bobbio (stunning with a bizarre old bridge) in one direction and Varzi (lovely village and superb salami) in the other. Lovely local wines too (DOC Oltrepò Pavese). Friendly host (no English spoken though so listen carefully if your Italian is less than adequate and, perhaps, ask her to 'Parla piu lentemente').

The neighbour wakes early and is followed by the bells every 15 minutes. No problem if you adjust your timescales - go to bed a bit earlier and have more day to enjoy the surrounding area. Breakfast is just stuff out of packets but, when in Varzi, buy an almond cake from the cake shop and you'll be very happy.
