"Great base to explore south-eastern Peak District"

We loved the stay, and enjoyed many full-day walks, with interesting destination in all directions, with Chatsworth house and Curbar Edge being particular highlights. The living room had a cosy fireplace that was great while relaxing with a movie (they had Harvey on DVD which I had wanted to see for years!)

Not too much to do in Youlgreave itself for a longer stay (it does have a couple of pubs/restaurants though), so I would only stay here if plan was to be out of the village most of the time.

Location was good, off road parking. Youlgreave is attractive but not as busy as the more well known towns. Friendly shop and pub. Within easy reach of Castleton, Hathersage, Bakewell. Lovely riverside walk from the door in Lathkill Valley. Immaculately clean cottage, good bright bedside reading lights - not all cottages have them. Well equipped kitchen.

Very steep stairs because of the age of the cottage, we could manage, but some guests might find them difficult.

April Cottage is lovely place to stay. It is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location is great, it is set in a lovely village in the picturesque countryside of the Peak District. Good local pubs within walking distance, Buxton & Chatsworth House are short driving distances. We had a lovely long weekend there and would return.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful village. Owners lived next door & quickly dealt with any issues we had including the central heating.We would highly recommend this cottage & the owners were very pleasant & friendly.

There was nothing to dislike.

"Superb"

Cottage very cosy and very convenient for us near to centre of Youlgreave and the village hall. There was a convenient empty cupboard to put food in. Despite the unusual snow and cold outside, the cottage was warm inside.
