"Stunning little get away"

10.0

Everything was so clean and the Shepherds hut was so cosy. All that you needed was on hand. Perfect relaxing get away 🥰

The only downside was that lighting the hot tub the first night, we couldn’t get the fire going but the second night we purchased fresh firewood and it was stunning. Maybe an extra option to be able to have the hot tub pre-lite but apart from that, we loved our stay

"Cosy shepherds hut in a stunning location"

7.0

The location is wonderful, Amroth beach is stunning and so is the beach at Wisemans Bridge. There were plenty of walks around the area and the National Trust Colby Woodland Garden was a great day out too with the dog. The hot tub was a pleasure, bring your own firewood with you as you will use quite a lot to keep the fire going. Other reviews mentioned that you had to buy more firewood at reception, cash only and spent a fortune so we instead bought a jumbo pack of soft kiln wood from B&M for around £11 - bargain! The site was lovely, everyone there was polite and welcoming. The shepherds hut is small but cosy, there is enough kitchenware, a fridge and plug in stove so that you can make home cooked meals at ease. There is strong WiFi and a smart TV with streaming apps available.

The listing says dog friendly but I wouldn't agree with that statement entirely. There is no enclosed garden available and dogs are not allowed on any furniture. This was not a problem for us because we brought his bed and our dog is trained so he didn't run off, but, I can imagine it would not be suitable for reactive dogs or dogs who like to wander. Something to keep in mind if booking. There was no privacy whatsoever, you were overlooked out of every window. We didn't mind this so much as we drew the blinds however, the hot tub was opposite a villa with a security camera pointing towards you so it felt a little hard to relax. There was just a wall between you and the hut next door so we were very close to them and had to walk past them in their hot tub a few times. Luckily the neighbours were lovely and didn't seem to mind. Unfortunately the shepherds hut didn't seem to be cleaned properly as there were crumbs left on the pull out table but this is something that might have been missed, the rest of the hut was fine. Comfort wise, the chairs were very uncomfortable, would have maybe been better with a small sofa in there instead. Overall, a cosy pleasant stay if you're not planning on spending too much time in the hut.

"A lovely little get away"

9.0

We liked the hut it was very clean and very cozy the staff were also very helpful, location was great we really did love it there very relaxing.

Having to heat the hot tub ourselves... as we have never had to do this before it was a little taxing on us, myself and my daughter. As we couldn't check in until 4pm we had asked that the hot tub be heated for us but it wasn't, and took 5 hours to get to temp so we didn't actually get in it until 9pm, we couldn't go anywhere in this time either as we had to keep putting wood on the fire... also, not enough wood was supplied. we had to buy an extra bag on day one and bought 2 bags of logs, kindling, and firelighters on day 2 and we then over heated it do had to wait hours for it to cool down I just felt there wasn't enough guidance for us novices. This has never been the case when we have booked hot tubs before.
