The hotel is clean, has good amenities (pool, small gym, water stations, small gift shop with snacks and drinks), and it's in a decent location that's close to Downtown Austin. There's plenty of great bars and eating placing that a short walk away, and most other places in and around Austin are a quick drive. We felt safe enough walking around. Of course, you might see the occasional homeless person because it's an urban area. We had absolutely no issues when walking around.
The walls must be fairly thin, because at busier times, we could hear neighbours talking in the rooms next to us (and those voices weren't shouting), and we heard children running around on the upper floor. Not a huge issue, and perhaps we're just used to hotels in Europe, which I find tend to be quieter than American buildings. I think we tend to have thicker walls.

It was a great location, walking distance to many of San Antonio’s downtown attractions.
We were woken up at 2:00am by random, loud knocking and running down the halls. Some boys just finding amusement in startling guests. My children were frightened. Called the front desk, they supposedly sent up valet to check.
