Internet was not reliable parking was safe

The woman that checked us in was very kind and personable! She answered all of our questions and quickly checked us in. The rooms could have been cleaner, specifically the bedding. The stairs to the upper floors were quite chipped. We didn’t use the pool because you're one block from the ocean! It was easily walkable to restaurants and bars nearby, along with the boardwalk. Ac worked great. For a motel it wasn’t bad. Parking was close to our room which was convenient. We enjoyed our stay.

Not a single thing.

There were fruit flies/regular flies all in the bathroom and room. There’s no smoking or pets allowed, but if there’s a guy blaring music to cover his dogs barking, smoking weed, outside your room door.. They won’t do anything about it. We were trying to put our kids down for a nap in the world’s shortest (might as well been a mattress on the floor) bed and also.. hard as a rock mattress with literally 2 sheets to cover up with. My husband went to the office about the guy 3-4 times. The lady in the office did try to handle the situation and then the guy did turn the music down, but she was not a manager so they weren’t making the guy leave. Then the guy knocked on our door so we started packing up. We didn’t go to our door until the office lady was back at our door and since you can hear everything from outside, we heard her telling him to leave us alone and that he was the one in the wrong. We heard her explaining to him why he was wrong, as if my husband telling him and pleading with him before that wasn’t enough. Before I knew it, he was trying to make it a black vs. white thing (mind you both ladies from the office were also African American). We did not stay. I wanted to contact authorities, but my husband just told me to load our kids and let’s leave. While we loaded our kids, the man yelled and starred at our car the entire time. And I said “stop, not with my kids here you don’t do that”.. so my husband yelled back as I loaded them up. It was horrible. Then as we decided to leave, a lady (also African American) comes out of her room to say my husband was in the wrong, when she was never even outside for any of it. I don’t know how on earth we could possibly be in the wrong. We wanted the music and dog and smoking outside our door to just stop. Our son has a disability and is a toddler, so, we just wanted him to have a decent nap so we could go to dinner as a family. I understand people “party” at the beach, but this was just basic human decency..
