An excellent historical hotel. I was thinking it would be old or need updating, but not the case at all! It was in outstanding shape. The property is beautiful with many shared spaces that aficionados of architecture will appreciate. Rooms have been modernized and are extremely clean and well maintained. The restaurant is excellent as well. Unfortunately, Mason City is a bit of a sleepy town with limited dining options, but there are many historic sites to explore. The hotel restaurant only had 2 people working and the bar was closed due to lack of available employees to work that evening. I still highly recommend this as a weekend getaway.

Loved the hotel. Restaurant staff was overwhelmingly busy. The Mack cheese was overcooked and had sat(I think)for a bit. I wish I had gotten the steak. Hotel is awesome and comfortable! Atmosphere in restaurant and hotel is top notch!

Each room is unique. Wonderful atmosphere. Warm bathroom floors!

It’s incredibly unique! My kids loved exploring the hotel and learning history. The pool table was a bonus. Restaurants close by:)

We had to move rooms because they checked us in wrong, then put us in a room that didn’t lock.

The staff.was very helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable, clean, and quiet. The architecture, the of course, was amazing! We really enjoyed our stay.

Staying in a FLW property was an amazing experience!
