Garner INN & Suites

We stayed at the Garner Inn & Suites after a concert at the Surf Ballroom in nearby Clear Lake. It's about a 10 or 15 minute drive from Clear Lake, super easy, just down the highway. The Garner Inn is very comfortable and well appointed, actually nicer than you might expect to find in a small town. The breakfast included hot items like sausage and omelets, in addition to the expected items like a waffle machine and muffins and yogurt. Staff was very friendly.

I was pleasantly surprised about how nice of a facility this is. The rooms are impeccably clean and in great repair. I travel for a living and this hotel was as nice, if not nicer, than the majority of the hotels I stay in. The staff was extremely accommodating and the breakfast was prompt and delicious. The city of Garner needs to be proud they have such a nice place for guests to stay when visiting their quaint little town. Kudos to the owners and people who work there.

The only thing I could come up with for not liking would be no elevator. It is only two stories so it was not a deal breaker for me. If you are elderly or would have trouble lugging luggage up a flight of stairs, they offer to assist you, or you could book a first floor room.

It was around 11pm when I got there to check in. The young man that checked me in flew through everything, had someone on his cell phone on speaker, a lot going on. I get it’s slow at at 11pm but value the people who are in front of you.
