Talavera Palm Springs

We had a fantastic stay at Talavera for our anniversary! It truly is an oasis in the heart of Palm Springs. The rooms are spacious, the pool is amazing, and the private hot tub was a cherry on top of an already amazing stay. We will definitely be back!

The location was great, right in downtown Palm Springs.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had such a wonderful stay at this Palm Springs hotel and can’t recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was top-tier—especially thanks to the hotel manager, Joanne. She was incredibly sweet, funny, and welcoming, and honestly felt like the heart of the hotel. She truly elevated the entire experience. We stayed in a spacious suite with a private pool, and it was perfect. The room was beautifully laid out, the beds were extremely comfortable, and having the jacuzzi just outside the patio was a dream. I loved being able to go back and forth between the jacuzzi and the pool—it felt like our own little oasis. The location is another huge plus. The hotel is within walking distance to downtown Palm Springs, making it easy to walk to restaurants, bars, and shops. Free on-site parking was super convenient, and the option to rent bicycles was a fun bonus. The hotel has a private, boutique feel that made our stay feel extra special. The cozy robes were a nice touch, and overall everything felt thoughtfully done. We were hotel-hopping that week, and this was by far one of our favorites—my boyfriend loved it too. I would absolutely stay here again the next time I’m in Palm Springs. Comfortable, charming, perfectly located, and filled with great hospitality—this place truly has it all.

From the moment you enter the front gate of Tavalera, it feels like you’re being transported into another world. The property is absolutely stunning and instantly sets the tone for a relaxing escape. Our room was beautifully decorated, with thoughtful details throughout, and the bathroom was truly gorgeous. We especially loved the private outdoor patio, which featured a generous seating area and a hot tub—perfect for unwinding and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Tavalera is an ideal couples getaway, and we can’t wait to return.

Our stay at Talavera was exactly the recharge we didn’t realize we needed. The property strikes that rare balance of being peaceful and inspiring, making it ideal not just for personal rest but for reflection and creativity as well. It was so impactful that we’ve already decided to make Talavera our annual company retreat moving forward. A special thank-you to Joanie, who was incredibly attentive and genuinely welcoming. Her warmth and care elevated the entire experience and made us feel truly looked after. If you’re looking for a place in Palm Springs that feels restorative, thoughtful, and beautifully done—Talavera is it. We can’t wait to return.

Every now and then you’re fortunate enough to stay somewhere that you don’t want to tell people about because it feels so special and yours. Talavera embodies this better than most of the five star $1000 a night places I’ve stayed. From the moment you enter through the old teak door and smell the jasmine and dates you’ll feel like you’ve discovered a hidden oasis. No matter which room you pick you’ll only be sharing the resort with a few others and odds are they want the same peace and quiet that you came for. The pool is warm and tranquil. I still dream about floating in it staring at the twin palms or reading by the fire pit at twilight. You can walk easily to the main shopping area and it’s central location is ideal to get most places you’ll want to see. You may hear a wedding taking place across the way at the cody but it really isn’t going to keep you up. Rooms are beautifully designed in boho Moroccan style and include a hot tub, kitchen, dining and living area with California king sized beds. It’s more like your own condo than a hotel. If you’re a couple looking to unplug, unwind, and find some peace from your busy life - stop looking. This is the best spot and worth the money.

Michelle B notes in a recent review that this is a 2.5 star hotel. That’s accurate. See the photographs below. This hotel is not staffed after 6 pm. At 4:49 pm, I received a text message that “our office will be closing an hour early today at 5 pm.” That level of advanced notice is consistent with the quality of this property. There is an emergency number, but it directs you right back to the automated prompt. So all the reviews about how great the staff is? Disregard them, this property is not staffed. Period. Which, to be fair, they disclosed after I made my reservation, but still. When was the last time you went to a resort or hotel with literally no employees on site? If you like that level of service - read: none, at five star rate - stay here. When we arrived at 5:30 (after phoning the property who told us that we just needed to arrive before 6 to check in), we were left to stand in the rain with our luggage for fifteen minutes with no way into the property, nobody working there, no phone number. Finally, someone called and said that “just for today, they decided to close an hour early” and then laughed when I said we were standing in the rain with our luggage for 15 minutes. Laughed. She said we would be receiving text message instructions on how to get in. Which, after standing in the rain for fifteen minutes we received. Have I received better service at a roadside motel in the middle of nowhere on the 10 freeway? Yes, but that’s a low bar to clear. As other reviewers note, the furniture is worn, there is no central air (in Palm Springs), just a wall unit. If you like rustic with no service at top of market prices, look no further.
