Springer Station

It was not as expected.

The hotel is exactly as stated. An historic property with hardwood floors expected from the era. We were needing a bed for the night on a long roadtrip. It was just perfect. Clean, updated to suit our modern needs and still keep the charm of yesteryear. Wonderful common area with snacks and coffee. All self serve which was perfect for our early morning departure. The bed was very comfortable. Will stay again if passing through. Zayras restaurant in area was perfect for our dinner also!

The main entrance is a bit messy

The beds were comfortable. Other than that the place was terrible. Not much light in the bedrooms. Windows were sealed shut so couldn't get fresh air. The bathroom heater vent was broken.

Shared bathroom for 6-8 rooms. Teenage kids running the place with no sign of the adults (parents?) who own the place. Dirty hallway and disheveled lobby. Rotten smell in the back hallway.

Checking in was done by a barefoot 13-14 year old boy. When I asked about parking/security, he replied with a loud dumbfounded, “huh?” The room was freezing.

The new owners of this historic hotel have created a fresh and quirky, if somewhat chaotic environment. Located just off I25, this is a perfect over night stop along the interstate. They also just opened a restaurant down the street that may well become the best eats in town. I recommend if you like older properties and small western towns. Check out the Springer historic society building nearby during business hours.

Fun place. I enjoyed the unique layout.

We stayed because of the historical aesthetic but it wasn’t really all that. This place would be so much nicer & get so much more traffic if they maintained the upkeep, were available as stated & decluttered a LOT. My husband & I each took a shower & there was only one towel. We texted the number in the bathroom as it said to & it took so long to even get a towel that luckily I had one in my car. We would probably stay again due to the price & availability but not a major fan.

The feeling of a family run business and community

The room was freezing at night and no way to warm up. The blankets were not enough for the temperature in the room.

The swamp cooler was loud and ran all night which made our room quite chilly. However, the host provided extra blankets. We arrived very late and the host was very welcoming.
