Stone Harbor

We have stayed numerous times at this resort. We love the location and the pub...We have noticed that the rooms are in need of updates along with the carpeting in the hallways. The bartenders (Johnnie Walker and Ryan) are great but we noticed some of the younger bartenders lack the customer service that we get from Johnnie and Ryan. In some cases, they completely ignored us and kept talking to peopel they knew. We were not the only people to notice, there was a man from Minnesota that got the same treatment and he was pissed. They always hav great bands here and there food is good. Cannot wait for the Tiki Bar to be open so we can visit again. Hopefully, we see improvements when we come next time.

Beautiful waterfront hotel. Super quiet at night. Bed and pillows were comfy. Older hotel which gives it its charm. Could use a few repairs but was clean. Food was excellent and all staff I encountered were very nice. Was there 4 days.

To start with this property was in terrible condition compared to the photos etc they advertised. The carpets in hallways were sooo soiled and disgusting. And the rooms were VERY dated in decor. But the actual reason for the review is the terrible treatment and staff disregard for our questions and complaints was fully insulting. We were NEVER informed there would be a live band playing outside our room til well after 10PM, and when we asked about it we were informed that its just the way it is but they could move us to a different wing into a lesser room for the same price tho !! the music was just loud enough to be heard but not understood and was not part of my expected weekend with what we had going on event wise. Then we found out that even at this supposed high end resort they dont do room service daily, no towels replaced or a quick vacuum or anything. You are expected to go to the front desk and ask for extra towels etc we were informed when we asked. Which I guess could have been mentioned in the advertising that it was a semi-selfserve high end resort??? Totally dissapointed in quality and service at the property and I couldn't even tip the room service people as they never gave any service that would warrant it . The people that had recommended it were very embarrassed as they understood it was supposedly a nice place to stay. I would say we could give it a -1 stars as it really was a disappointment for what they advertise for us to expect at least a Budget Host quality for the high price you pay? just sad and the staff just didn't have anything to offer as a relief plan . I would NEVER tell anyone a place as bad as this would be anywhere to stay especially at the exorbitant price.

We have stayed here before, but this year was a whole different experience. Elevator and community washing machine out of order. The outdoor pool is closed and covered—are you kidding me? There is cleaning service every third day, but they will leave you enough coffee and other supplies for only 1. I would not go back.

Old man bartender who normally works at tiki bar but happened to be working inside was rude, disrespectful and cocky. Sat at bar made small talk with old man bartender to then be ignored avoided on being served drinks and when asked to his face why he was not taking our order laughed in our faces and walked away. While the rest of the bartending staff sat by and watched this all take place. How disappointing and disrespectful. Then tried to contact the establishment via Instagram on messenger to see that they viewed my message with no response. So if you liked being ignored and laughed at with no service this is the place for you. Oh and btw the bar had a total of 8 customers including us. So they were not busy inside the restaurant.

Arrived for check-in and we were 4 rooms short. A/C not working properly in 1 room. Communications with Stone Harbor is non-existent. It's hard to get someone to answer the phone or return emails. I believe they are way understaffed, which made our experience not very good.

We spent another New Year's Eve at the Stone Harbor Resort. Love this location and the fact they had great entertainment all weeked (Friday - Monday). The band, Bacchas Lotus, was a great band, first time hearing them. Loved the Packer Party again this year. Food is already great in the bar. One thing we did notice is that the rooms are starting to show some wear and could be updated. Also, we left dirty towels out in the hallway to get clean ones but never got them. We called the front desk and they were very helpful in getting us clean towels.

The hotel was clean, pool was great and they had a really great band playing outside the bar/restaurant (on a Friday night). We enjoyed the band after we had dinner in the restaurant. The food was average. The hotel is in a great location - within walking distance to the small downtown area for shops/restaurants.

We visited on August 10, 2022. We were seated on the terrace for drink and dinner. The food and beverage were excellent and the wait staff friendly. A huge disappointment was the unbelievably loud band. We were not aware that we would be attending a rock concert while eating. My friend recorded the sound for approximately 1/2 hour and the decibel rating was consistently in the low 70s range. On 2 occasions the readings were 89 and 81 decibels. While a group of diners were on a pontoon boat the band the band was much louder. My friend did not start the measurements until after that party left. We found that level of noise distracting and inappropriate for what we assumed would be a pleasant meal and conversation. We asked the waiter if he would ask the band if they would reduce the sound and he shook his head and said “they do their own thing”. The drink, food and view are worth returning for. However, if a band is playing in would turn around and walk out.

We stayed here for the Rotary Shipyard Tour and it was perfect! Check-in was quick and easy. Friendly and helpful staff at the front desk. I stayed in a one bedroom deluxe room w/no connect. Lots of space and really comfortable. The balcony had a nice little table and two chairs which were wonderful for enjoying a mug of hot chocolate each morning and just watching the boats go by in the harbor. We walked to the Shipyard Tours on Saturday and spent quite a bit of time walking around 3rd Avenue checking out shops. Overall it was a restful weekend and I would definitely stay here again.
