Near Hiking: Blue Ridge Mtn Home on Private Acre

When I arrived at this property it was 7 degrees outside and this property does not have central air and heat but SPACE HEATERS ONLY which were all turned off. Because of that the interior of the house was in the teens or twenties at best and I could see my breath. After running all heaters on high for hours it was still only in the 40's inside the house so I had to sleep wearing full ski wear which essentially meant I got no sleep at all. Upon waking up the following morning there was no running water so I could not shower, use the toilet, brush teeth, wash hands....etc. and it was not fixed until that evening so all pre scheduled plans for that day were lost. I would have been better off sleeping in a tent and saved my money. The owner only offered a minimal refund so my recommendation is to not rent this property especially in cold weather months.

The property owners are not being honest for what this property has. We have been to some exception places. the check in instructions was a four digit code for the lock box. we called the owner answered very well to say it was last 6 digit of our phone number. so thankfull that we got service on the mountain. should of checked but no AC thats my fault as we were having some really hot weather. they say they have spices well if you call 1 bottle of spice then that's rediculess we did not bring any the last place we were at had it all and thought if they were advertising this it would have a bunch. toiletry's only one roll, kitchen roll only 1. On the leaving statement... take out trash no bin to put it in so we left it inside by the door not to atract roudents. No closets to hang clothes they are locked have a hanger on the outside. its basic not much utensils or pots, the shower conditioner bottle was filled with shower gel limited wi-fi sevice is very very low. had troubles getting tv to work. The owners really need to check out another rental that is good and take some ideas on how to perfect this one people are looking for a home away from home. the home is clean and close the market, the bathroom is nice and shower is good. Overall place is good.
