"Great staff and incredible views that you’ll not find anywhere else "

10.0

When we were planning for our first visit to Napa, Poetry Inn came up on all the lists of recommended hotels in various publications and blogs, but we eventually decided to stay down in the town of Yountville due to our unfamiliarity of the area. However, we did make our way up to check out Poetry Inn just for our future references. It was such a gem. It’s only 5 mins drive away out of the town Yountville, which has great restaurants and central location to all the wineries. Even though we were not guests at the Inn, Daniel showed extreme hospitality and his time with us, offering us coffee and letting us sit at the patio to enjoy the view and peace at the Inn. The Inn looks new and well decorated. It’s also very quiet and private. The view is simply stunning! The best we’ve seen on our trip. Not being on the main highway, you’re also close to wineries on the Silverado Trail and more family-owned, less commercial wineries in the mountains. Daniel shared his knowledge of wine and wineries with us as well. The kind of hospitality and genuine welcome does not happen often these days, so we want to write a review to support Poetry Inn. We had a special time there and will definitely come back to stay on our next trip.

"Outstanding Service, Amazing Views and Beautiful Rooms"

10.0

PROS: The fire last year isn't evident anymore as the rains in the last several months caused all sorts of new greenery everywhere. Service from Lisa, Henrik, Marc and Daniel was absolutely superb. They were so thoughtful, helpful and accommodating. Really top notch. The 5 bedrooms all have marvelous views, and many wonderful amenities. Breakfast each morning was incredibly delicious. CONS: The driveway is a bit rutted in parts, and incredibly steep at the last part. Being afraid of heights, I parked at the mid level and walked up. The angle is so steep, it hurt my knees walking down from the front door to the mid-level parking area. The inn has wood burning fireplaces, rather than gas. So if you are sensitive to smoke smells or have asthma/allergies, you may smell it at certain times. I woke up with a stuffy runny nose and headache. When I went into town, the headache and runny/stuffy nose went away. Lisa kindly moved me into another room, but the issue remained so I had to leave the Inn a few days earlier than planned. They were very gracious about it, but nothing they can do as the soot is embedded in the chimney.
