7 Miles to State Park: Poconos Getaway w/ Deck!

I stayed at this residence for three days during a road trip with my family. The host was responsive and provided clear instructions, which made check-in easy. Unfortunately, the property did not fully match the expectations set by the photos. The deck was in poor condition, with both the stairs and platform noticeably slanted and unstable. I was genuinely concerned for my family’s safety, especially with young children. While the cabin initially appeared tidy, a closer look revealed that the bathroom had likely been overlooked during cleaning. I also found a large number of dirty dishes hidden in the oven while preparing dinner. I sent photos of this to the host but never received a response. Another important detail is that the home does not have central air conditioning. There is a mini-split unit in the living room, and small oscillating fans are provided in the bedrooms. Unfortunately, we stayed during a heat wave, and the bedrooms were extremely hot and uncomfortable. My entire family ended up sleeping in the living room just to stay cool. Overall, I felt misled by the photos on Hotels.com. While the location had potential, the condition of the property and lack of responsiveness left me disappointed. I would not choose to stay here again.
