The staff, despite warning that they don't speak English was able to communicate enough to make our stay very pleasant and comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent and plentiful.

lovely hotel in traditional ryokan style. u will remove your shoes at the entrance, and the entire property is covered with tatami mats, feel very authentic and cozy ❤️ the room was comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. here they have 3 types of onsen ♨️ public bath separated for men and women, an outdoor bath (currently closed), and my favorite the private onsen, which you can spend times for 40 minutes 🫶🏻 they also provide breakfast and dinner set meals, though we didn’t book them this time. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel if you’re planning to stay near Lake Tazawa 👍🏻

We have travelled across Japan and stayed at many ryokans, Kashintei Shirahama is right there among the top ones. We had a lake view room and the view is just amazing. There is an attached dining room which is very convenient as the meals are the star of the stay. They are a work of art and we enjoyed every single meal . I am gluten free and was skeptical if I could have anything as Japanese meals are planned well in advance and usually contain gluten ingredients. However, the chef accommodated my dietary restrictions and I could have every single course as it was modified and I got to taste everything. It would have taken so much effort and I am truly grateful. The private onsen is amazing , with a lovely relaxation area and we were lucky to use it multiple times during the stay.

Everything was good, however if I were to nitpick, the bathroom had a bad smell , which was probably from the drain , though it was very clean!

Everyone is friendly including the frontdesk grandma, uncle and young staff! Despite not fluent in English, exceptional service and top notch! Big and quiet room! The dinner and breakfast were amazing!!! Delicious and exquisite them! Walking distance to the lake was amazing! The bus stop for the lake tour was near about 5-10mins walk from it! They have a service bus to bring u back to the station in the am too! Everything was perfect! Even the morning snow from the windows were beautiful!

Beautiful onsen hotel next to Lake Tozawa. Super friendly staff, incredible food and lovely onsen including private onsen.

Superbe accueil, tout le monde est serviable et aidant. Une barrière de la langue minime mais vite oublié devant tant de gentillesse. Les repas son bons, copieux et diversifié. Le onsen privatif est vraiment agréable (le public aussi)
