Ryokan Ichinomatsu

It was very Japanese - as I set the theme of this trip being ‘feel as much of Japan as possible’ I was satisfied with what I paid for. My pregnant wife found it easy to relax in the comfortable room as well as the bath. Overall, I would find no problem recommending this place.

I could see the wall of the room aging. That’s fine - on the flip side, it tells the long history of the place. I don’t think there would be any issues with sanitation but I am concerned some picky people may find trouble with it.

Very satisfied with the accommodation, both with regards to the the facilities and the food, but most of all with the employees. Pleasant service all around, will definitely book again if I I am coming back to Hakodate.

Absolutely loved my stay here. Allowed me to leave bags before check in. Attention to detail like wiping my suitcase wheels before taking onto tatami was amazing. Welcome tea and room/meal plans were so cute and loved the lady who served tea. Convenient shop and vending machine. Front desk was super helpful, including the young gentlemen who helped me double check my yukata was on correctly! Speaking of which also love the coat that came with the yukata. Amazing dinner spread, SO full and was great pair with sake. Nice job to the chef and team. おいしいですよ！ Onsen was awesome, I wish I could live at this property. Breakfast spread was delicious. I miss this place.

Atmospheric and charming Ryokan, attentive and helpful staff, enjoyable Onsen facilities, breakfast and dinner were exceptional.

Only criticism would be that there was no laundry facilities.

The meals (dinner and breakfast) were fresh and delicious. The highlight of the stay was of course the hot spring.
