Hotel Pegasus Crown

Everything was good. Super clean & very efficient, polite & friendly staff. Central location near to Police bazaar. As I left early in the morning a packed breakfast was given to me - great initiative!

The property assets / infrastructure were good - however the management of staff was very lax, room cleaning service was irregular, nobody would pick up the phone (reception, housekeeping, room service) before 7 am; People would start work only at 7am, so no hot water any day before 7am or evening; Last day we had to leave at 3am early morning - load shedding - no lights, noone to put on the generator, we came down from the 4th floor with our own luggage using phone torch - the person on night duty was sleeping on the floor in the reception area. This despite me having informed him the previous night that I was leaving at 3am. Did not have our bath the previous day evening or the same day before 3am due to nonavailability of hot water.

Extremely loose management style - staff were not on their toes and did as they pleased. No one to demand accountability from them.

I stayed briefly at the Pegasus Crown hotel in Shillong while in transit and had a fantastic experience of their hospitality! The hotel itself is located centrally at the well-known Police Bazaar area of Shillong, at the very heart of the tourist hotspots. While I didn’t have much time to explore Shillong, the great placement of the hotel gave me a head-start and I was able to cover important spots such as Police Bazaar, Wards Lake etc over a short afternoon. Also, there are some amazing eateries nearby featuring local Khasi food (La Trattoria in particular) and some amazing restaurants featuring live bands and music pretty much all week (The Evening Club in particular). The hotel has been recently renovated to a high standard and the rooms were fantastic – large, well proportioned and well equipped with good quality furniture. The bed linen in particular was of good quality and the mattress was firm but not too firm. Perfect! To top it off, the staff are very friendly and efficient. Both the front desk staff and room service were super responsive. Also, the hotel manager (James I believe) was very hands-on and called to check if everything was to my satisfaction. A good touch. All in all , a short but splendid stay at the Pegasus Crown and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a central location while staying in Shillong.
