Hotel Maximilian

What a find! Highly recommend. We loved this hotel, wish we could have stayed longer, restaurant menu and drinks reasonably priced. Mini bar reasonably priced. Only downside is from carpark (level 5 upwards is for guests) to room was quite a trek, and our room was the furthest one away. Also the noice from the car park renovation starting at 7.20am was not appreciated, but it won't be forever I guess. Staff were super friendly. A 20 minute journey on the tram (8) gets you into the centre of Basel, the stop is right outside the hotel. This place is perfectly situated, walk over the bridge just out the front of the hotel and your in France. AMAZING.

The hotel is situated on the 5th to 7th floor of the Rhein Center, very large shopping mall and convention centre. I booked my room in the Hotel Maximilian. The reception on the 6th floor is co-operated with Best Western hotel and it was my impression that Best Western now operate the Hotel Maximilian as well. The reception was professional, helpful and friendly. The simple double room was neat, spacious, tidy and comfortable, with a mini-bar and a kitchenette. The bathroom was clean and had a shower in the bathtub, which is a little outdated. Everything worked fine. My room was on the 5th floor and had a view towards the Rhine river over the roof of the shopping mall, with all the airconditioning and ventilation units on top. This was somewhat noisy all night if you want the window a little bit open for fresh air. There was absolutely no traffic noise. No noise came from corridors or other rooms. Quality/Price ratio was very good.

Duschbrause defekt. Schlechte Luft, warscheinlich vom Teppich. Ausstattung ist in die Jahre gekommen. Ansonsten war das Hotel ok.

A cozy and comfortable hotel. We were satisfied. The employees are caring and friendly. Location is great.

Frühstück toll aber ist zu teuer 16 euro pro person. Finde das übertrieben.

You book a hotel, that is located on one of the sides of a shopping mall, and they tell you there is parking available on the mall's parking lot free and dedicated for the hotels, you thnok "wow, convenient!". But, then you arrive and it turns out, you have to leave the car at the parking (wihch happened to be located on the 7th floor of the parking lot), have to go down an elevator 7 floors, walk with all your luggage almost 1 block of distance and take an elevator, on an oposite face of the complex, to a SIXTH floor, where the reception is located at. And then they tell you you have to walk with your bags across the restaurant, take the elevator located at the opposite side of the building' side you came up with. And then go down a flight again to go to your room. You end up not liking this hotel at all.
