"Good"

"Okay, not great."

6.0

This is a budget hotel at best. Beds and pillows are very uncomfortable. They skimp on the little things: there is no conditioner, only one pillow per bed, ect. It’s not obviously dirty so that’s good. However it is about a 10min bus ride from Kyoto Station so the location isn’t great. Personally I wouldn’t stay here again, spend a little extra and stay close to the station.

"Great stay"

10.0

Very good hotel. Good location. Nearby is Omiya Station, which runs a direct train to Bamboo Grove. There is a bus stop nearby, you can take bus 206, 207 to Kyoto Station or to the Temple of Clean Water, etc. The hotel offers bicycle rental. The only thing that could disturb a traveler is that the rooms have frosted windows. But it was not relevant to us.

"Aikido trip"

8.0

A party oft twelve adults stayed here for ten nights mid April. A very pleasant stay. Rooms were cleaned every day and the hotel spotless. The rooms are adequate size wise but no draw space for socks, undies etc Shower was very good and soap and shampoo provided. The staff were very friendly and helpful despite our Japanese being very basic and their English was the same. But being polite and patient bore fruit. Position was good with a couple of train stations a few hundred meters away. There is a taxi rank outside Mac Donalds and a few restaurants in the small square. A great budget hotel.

"To be close to the heart of Kyoto"

8.0

We were really impressed with the service and helpfulness of the staff. We arrived early dropped baggage and could cover shopping centers near Takashimaya, went to Nishiki market, then off to Gion and rounded up with Kiyomizudera. Easily done with buses that are running so frequently just about 300m from the hotel. To get to hotel just take bus 206 from Kyoto station A3 stand and stop at Shijo Omiya. Walk back alongside cross the traffic lights about 300m you are at the hotel. Near the traffic light junction you can see the train station Omiya across the road. Along the traffics light corner you can see tram to Arashiyama. We were given a spacious room even we did not made any special request. We found the hotel very convenient for stay and visiting the tourist spots.

"Ok rooms but internet not working "

6.0

The hotel is in a convenient location, many eateries nearby and a supermarket. The room was small as expected but clean and well equipped. The walls are pretty thin and I could hear some noise from the room next door. My two big complaints are: internet did not work at all on the fourth floor so couldn’t do any work in the room, and couldn’t open the window at all as well which made me feel a bit claustrophobic.

"Excellent Staff and Room"

10.0

This hotel is very good if you are planning a trip to Arashiyama (the bamboo forest etc.) because Shijo Omiya train station will take you there directly. Other reviews may complain about the size of the rooms, but compared to the standard of rooms in Japan that we were accustomed to, we were very happy. It is a relatively new hotel. The room had a mini fridge where we could store maybe a couple of drink cartons. The room came with a smartphone called a ‘Handy’ that we were allowed to take out of the room which we then used to look for things to do and allowed us to use Google Maps at any time which was a lifesaver. We had many small requests especially about the laundry machines. They were extremely patient and generous throughout our three days.

"New Hotel - Micro Rooms"

8.0

Stayed for one night on a group tour of Japan. Hotel is only one month old and has all the mod cons. However there is no restaurant and breakfast is served in boxes (sandwiches and juice). Hotel rooms are very small and space is utilised to the utmost - you cannot leave you suitcase open - it must be stored upright. Fridge is the smallest I have ever encountered - a six pack of beer and a bottle of wine filled it entirely. Bed was comfortable and shower OK. Close to subway , good restaurants and bars.
