Great food! We got a room upgrade to the top floor. Room was spacious but a little bit old. Onsen was nice but very busy.

"Resort type of hotel with beautiful sea views"

Beautiful sea view, suite was big with open air bath which was enjoyable.

I had to change room as the first one I had, had a very strong sulfur smell. I was told it was due to the hot spring. However, I’ve been to many different ryokan with hot spring and while you can smell sometimes something in the bad, it doesn’t inundate the whole bedroom strongly. It took a lot of time and effort to get the staff to do anything. For a long time, the answer was the hotel is full. Finally the lady at reception asked if she could check and upon entering she realised the smell and offered to spray air spray. As she could see that wouldn’t cut it considering I had booked a suite, she finally got to show me two other rooms, one being the neighbouring suite which had zero smell, yet the same open air bath. So that was a bit disappointing in terms of staff service. The other point is that this is a huge hotel… my bad for not checking this before but that wasn’t my taste. If you don’t mind big resort feeling then it’s for you. It just didn’t do it for me. Restaurant is purely self service as a result.
