Hotel STARRIZE

Location was great with only a 5 minute walk to Canal City. There were also some temples and a market street nearby which was cool to walk through. The room with 2 beds we booked was very roomy.

There were a couple of big issues that kept this hotel from being totally fine to pretty uncomfortable. We had a room on the 11th floor and the water pressure was terrible. There was no water pressure in the shower and if the toilet was refilling then the sink and shower would only just dribble out a bit of water till it was done. Hot water would take 2+ minutes to start coming out. At the end of a long day of walking you dont want to come back to a terrible shower like that. The second issue sounds small but it made things really annoying. There is hardly anywhere to hang anything! There is a closet area in the large room but it just has 3 little hooks on it. There was definitely room to put a bar across it and some hangers. In the bathroom there was tons of wall space but no towel racks or hooks! There was one inside the shower which makes no sense. There was a long handle for a drawer under the sink but it was too short to hang a bath towel. On top of those there numerous other things that could have also been easily improved. The heater/ac unit is right next to the head of the person on the nearest bed. It would randomly blow hot and cold air on my head throughout the night. I just turned it off but the room would start getting cold (January visit). The smaller room we booked was really small. Just enough room to walk beside the bed. No door on the bathroom, just a roll down vinyl blind. This room was on a lower floor so the water pressure was ok but it still took a long time to get hot water running. Coffee in the lobby had a couple coffee machines which a sign saying it was available from 6:30am to 11pm (or 11:30pm) but it was more like 9am to 9pm because the staff would show up late and shutdown early. There were no options for getting water unless they showed up and put out a small pitcher of water. Laundry was pretty expensive at 400 yen plus more for drying.

The bathroom was a bit small, and the central control of the room lighting.

Dirty AC and get cleaner bed sheets. It had old blood stains
