RYOKAN GINKAKU KYOTO

I loved the whole ryokan experience. Even before my stay the staff had responded to my email inquiries. The place was clean and nice. I would definitely stay there should I find myself in Osaka again.

Pros - wonderful staff, being welcomed with tea & biscuits was a cute way to start. Very clean, great rooms. A fantastic way to experience a ryokan if you haven't before. Cons - futons are hard if you're not used to them and the pillows were small.

It was a great experience

I loved my stay and Ryoken Ginkaku. From the moment we walked in the door, the staff was friendly and extra attentive. They great you with a welcome tea, where you can sit by the small but beautiful tranquil garden. I was really surprised by how big and spacious our room was. Also, It was spotless!! I know that should be the standard, but this place just really felt like home. My husband and I didn’t want to leave. I highly recommend selecting the dinner and breakfast option with your room, so you can experience a delicious and tradition Japanese meal. The last thing is the public bath. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to try it out, but so glad I did. My body felt completely relaxed and I was able to unwind from a long travel day. If public baths aren’t your thing, they have private baths for an additional charge. Overall, I loved my stay and I absolutely loved the staff. Thank you for a wonderful experience during my time in Kyoto!

I took the room with the futon. It's good size to share up to a party of 3. Room was immaculate. Check-in is a bit later than most hotel.

Very close to Kyoto station! Staff helped us Gaijin to check in with our broken Japanese without issue. Beautiful modern Ryokan with wonderful rooms and beautifuly presented and wonderful tasting meals. Would love to go again some time soon!

This was probably the best location I stayed in Kyoto. The staff were super nice and the room was super spacious! The private bath experience was super nice only down side is that the Wi-Fi is nonexistent in it so make sure to bring your pocket Wi-Fi with you. Breakfast was good both mornings, dinner only sucks I didn’t get to dinner. Great Ryokan and conveniently placed in Kyoto!

Staff was wonderful: friendly and helpful. Great location close to the train station and lots of dining and shopping options but in a quieter alley. Very clean with good amenities and ambience. Would stay again!
