KABIN Gion - formerly KABIN Minamiza

Great location in Gion, easy check in and out.

Surprisingly noisy, particularly noticeable with late night revellers. Staff only available in the afternoon. Bins were not cleared for two days despite leaving the sign on the door as requested. Received a package but no proactive effort to give it to me. Small room for a family, charmless decor.

Great location in the Gion district. Room was very comfortable and a great size with space in separate room for luggage. Laundry facilities on Level 2 and 4 were very useful, but can be busy at peak times.

The location was excellent. Gion is so walk-able. Kabin Minamiza is non descript from outside, and the accommodation is clean and comfortable

Great location, easy to access transit and plenty of restaurants nearby.

Kind of a no host hotel with minimal staffing and al though we requested 3 beds, we ended up with 2 beds and the futon couch. A very small room but functional.

The hotel is located in an excellent position in Gion area. Very close to rail, temples and markets. The rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. The staff were nice. The hotel was able to receive luggage forwarding. They also had umbrellas at the front door that you could use and return.

It was a lovely place to stay but could not give it top points for the following reasons. I found the room to be small and a bit expensive for the size but I think that may be due to the sought after area that it is in. They could receive luggage but not able to forward luggage. They have a paid laundry on each level but I travel with family and don't give top points unless there is a washer in the room.

Excellent location as only about 2min walk from Gion Shijo station with great little restaurants just over the road. Easy walk to all the main attractions of the Gion area. Room was bright and light. Quite a big room too for Gion. Room gets cleaned if staying for a longer stay. Shelf help to toiletries and tea/coffee too. Reception staff was lovely and went out of his way when I was in need of a dentist (gave me a name and then later emailed me with more options).

Some of the information provided on the Kabin app and on Booking.com was a bit confusing as it was contradictory namely laundry and reception hours. Couldn't open the window - would have been nice but this isn't the only place where you can't do it.

Great little hotel and a great value compared to some others. The property is clean and just a short one-minute walk from the main street where all the crowds are. The hotel was pretty quiet and the room was as pictured, but a little smaller than we originally thought. We did not have much interaction with the staff and rarely saw anyone in the hotel although I believe the hotel was near capacity. Would definitely stay again for the location!

Nothing to complain about. The rooms look smaller than the photos make them seem but still super clean and comfy.
