We spent a week at Balmy Beach Resort this August and overall had a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday. Positives: • The resort is very clean, modern, and beautifully furnished. • Wide choice of food and drinks, with plenty of fresh vegetables, fruits, appetizers, and desserts – the pistachio ice cream was a highlight! • Staff were consistently kind, helpful, and welcoming. • The beach was well maintained and clean, and security on the grounds felt reassuring. • Lovely relaxing atmosphere overall. • Every evening there was entertainment from 9 pm, and during the day the hotel offered creative and fun activities such as painting, mosaic workshops, fly yoga every second day, and even sunrise paddle boarding with an instructor. • For couples, there was a nice selection of board games and other activities to enjoy together.

Areas for improvement: • Sunbeds: there is a rule against reserving sunbeds when you’re not present for more than an hour, but in reality many guests claim them early in the morning (around 6 am) and staff do not enforce the rule. As a result, poolside beds were often “reserved” but empty. • Cocktails: the quality was inconsistent – generally better in the evenings, but during the day they often varied a lot depending on the staff preparing them. • Smoking: this was one of the bigger drawbacks for us. Many guests smoked on the restaurant terrace and at the bar, even though at restaurant it was marked non-smoking. Staff did not intervene, so non-smokers like us often had to move around to avoid the smoke. We would strongly suggest creating a proper non-smoking section at the bar and enforce the rule in restaurant terrace so everyone can enjoy the evenings comfortably. • Food: while the selection of sides, vegetables, and desserts was excellent, beef and seafood options were very limited – we only had steak and shrimps once during the whole week. • A la carte: access was only free once during the stay, and we didn’t find the experience memorable enough to book again. Overall: Balmy Beach Resort is a clean, modern, and friendly resort with plenty of activities and a relaxing vibe. The variety of food and the warmth of the staff stood out, and we had a wonderful week. With better enforcement of the sunbed and smoking rules, plus more consistency in drinks and beef options, it would be close to perfect.
