Our family celebration had to be cut short, but the property owners had no compassion or empathy, which was so painful and hard to deal with on top of our emergency. While at daycare, our small dog had a pretty big fall. The injury required us to cancel his boarding so we could observe him for a brain hemorrhage and fractured pelvis over the weekend. Our dog is so deeply loved by us, so we were definitely going to make sure we did the responsible thing as dog owners and make sure he had our full care. When we asked for a refund (or even a refund for our second night) there was a curt, dismissive “no.” The response came minutes after we reached out. If this had happened to the property owners, or the folks that work at RedAwning, they would probably be so hurt if they were treated so callously. Everyone in our network of service providers for our dog were so kind and understanding. Our boarding was cancelled without a fee and our vet bill was covered by our day care. We read all the rules for the property, including the one that says no pets allowed. We've been saving up all year for this family celebration and were hoping to settle into this home, for a weekend, as a family. Being treated like some random family and being dismissed so quickly during this time of need was so hurtful. If they wanted to, they could have supported us, but profits matter more than families.
