De Vivo Realty - Blue Waves Positano

It’s liveable

I usually give 5 stars as a default and see positive reviews to this property earlier but my experience was beyond horrible. This is an expensive property but the host is rude, arrogant and racist. We were not told how to get to the property, once we got there we were asked to walk up 80 steps on a steep incline (photo attached). On getting there, we could not enter since the key was wrong and waited for hour. We were let in by mistake by another family that shared the same entrance. On entering we see the house has not been cleaned since the last guests. Eventually the host came and offered to clean the house. When we raised concerns on the hygiene of the house, we were yelled at like. This is when Mr. Angelo from De Vivo came to the scene and infinitely worsened everything. He was smirking throughout and said he did not care because we had no other option but to accept. He said we were lucky to get this house as Positano was always booked out. And he said we were making an issue out of a non-issue because there are bigger problems in the world (like war). Strangely he also insisted on being called sir, and not brother or friend. I don’t understand where this arrogance comes from. Further, the terrace acts as the entry way to an adjacent house so there is no privacy. Ignoring all this, the house is fine, barring a few issues with hot water. We were also promised a resolution by the property/ booking.com by way of a refund which we are now told the host has blocked. So kudos guys! I would recommend avoiding this property altogether, there is a 4 star hotel down the street without the climb and much better rooms service. Interestingly, they have turned off reviews on Google maps to hide earlier complaints.

We liked so many things about this place. The beds were comfortable, the charging stations and Wi-Fi all up to date and plentiful, the lighting in the main bathroom was excellent for getting ready and doing makeup, the floor length mirrors were needed bc we were all getting ready for our son’s wedding, the iron, washing machine abs drying rack were incredibly helpful, the bus stop was a short walk away as well as a local coffee shop that opened at 7am. The terrace was beautiful and amazing and even though we were a little ways out of the main square, we really like this part and being more among the locals and local restaurants instead of closer to the city center and tourists

It’s Positano so steps are expected but at least we had only half as many as other family members and getting downtown was a bit slower but the taxi/bus stop is a short walk away. we did the walk from downtown to our place a couple times and actually enjoyed burning off the amazing food when we could take our time and take in all the different neighborhoods.

Decor is beautiful. Beds are comfortable. Showers are great! A/C was more than adequate. View was great. Everyone we dealt with regarding this property were super nice and helpful and responsive. We met the property owner as we checked out and she was so nice and welcoming. The concierge , Anna, helped us with reservations and a couple of ‘crisis’ things when train schedules changed, etc. All I. All, the service was top-notch.

Stairs were a little much… especially for our age group… but doable…and we were just really careful!
