Lakeland Village South Lake Tahoe

It was a nice property overall but the construction, not enough parking (very tight parking too) the worst bed I’ve ever slept on ( had to go buy ibuprofen to take away the pain in my back) and needing 10 digit code to get into your room (the reader would time out before you enter the 4th digit which was beyond frustrating) and check in at 4pm and check out at 10am is weird as most places are an 3pm check in and allow you to check in early. our stay was pleasant.We stayed in a studio with a king which made it easy as my wife has Celiac disease so we were able to cook in our room. Even though I listed my frustrations above, we would stay here again as the property is beautiful surrounded by pines and the lake (which was a short walk across the villa)

Great room with comfortable bed, living room, fully equipped kitchen and a deck. Very quiet, and such a wonderful location. Easy check in and out.

It was upsetting not receiving a refund. Definitely values profits over peoples well being. Also the futon bed seemed dirty and was super uncomfortable. I had to buy a comforter at the local ross because they were not able to give me a comforter at night. The next morning I requested one at the front desk and they did not check back in with me, so comfort and care wasn't felt. Therefore, I do not recommend any room with a futon bed unless you bring your own mattress topper and blankets which is super inconvenient as a traveler. Also, the water makes your skin super dry!! Only amazing perk was being a few yards from the lake!

The property was very well maintained and the front desk staff was very nice and more than happy to help us with the original code sent to us that did not work (it never got corrected during our stay).

Location

After management changed they did some drastic changes . House keeping is very very tough to get in touch. I had called 2 days in a row and personally went to front desk just to get couple toilet papers. They also no more operate the shuttle to ski resort. If you want a towel change etc its nearly impossible . We stayed 5 days so just having 2 toilet roles and few towels is not enough. Other changes were, you dont have to goto front desk to checkin or checkout. They send the door code via sms. The code is so long, it takes fot ever to key in

No noise isolation, it’s like a cheap motel. You can clearly hear people stomping above you, and hear people talking in their rooms from the hallway. The Internet was down for the whole 4 days while I was there.
